#1
Country of Origin: Columbia

Project Name: Bell Boeing V-44 Pelican Quad Tiltrotor

Project Type: Military Research & Development

Project Cost: $10,000,000,000.00

Project Information: The Bell Boeing V-44 Pelican is a four-rotor variant of the V-22 Osprey developed jointly by Bell Helicopter and Boeing. It is aimed to have a cargo capacity roughly equivalent to the C-130 Hercules, cruise at 250 knots, and land at unimproved sites vertically like a helicopter.

The design of the V-44 features a large tandem wing aircraft with V-22 type engines and 50-foot (15 m) rotos at each of the four wing tips. It is to have a 747-inch (19.0 m) cargo bay with a rear loading ramp that can carry 110 paratroopers or 150 seated passengers. In cargo configuration, it can accommodate eight 463L pallets.

A maximum payload of 16 tons (32,000 lb) and a range of 780 km (when fully loaded) and 1,850 km (when at half-payload), and 4,000 km (ferry mode).

Unit cost is expected to reach $100,000,000.00
